Born and raised in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, Misael is as authentic as it gets! Since moving to the UK in 2006, he has focused on teaching Latin dance locally, nationally, and internationally. His Cuban roots have given him the passion to promote Cuban dancing, music, and culture.
Misael teaches highly popular, regular classes in Plymouth and Exeter where his repertoire extends to other styles of Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba in addition to Cuban Salsa. His patience and lively character guarantees that his classes are relaxed and fun to participate in, yet serious, when necessary. He relishes seeing people improve their dancing!
Away from his weekly classes and is monthly parties, Misael is a regular instructor and DJ at many Latin dance events in the UK and abroad. He quickly became a well-established name in the Latin dance scene, winning 2nd place in the Latin UK Awards (LUKAS) in 2014. In 2016, with his knowledge and experience, Misael chose to create his very own annual Latin dance festival in Plymouth; Tropical Summer Festival. The festival has continued to grow in popularity each year, which has led him to now run one of the most successful Latin dance events in the UK.
Misael’s hard work and talent has allowed him to work alongside some of the biggest names in Latin dance, such as Roly Maden, Maykel Fonts, Clave Negra, U-Tribe, Yanet Fuentes, Rafael del Busto, Osbanis and Anneta, Alberto Valdes, Moe Flex, Hugo Cortes, Kerry Ribchester, Robert Charlemagne, Miguel & Mayana, Mauro Casali & Eva Hurychova, Miguel Montiero, Iris de Brito, Enrique Perez, Duana, Diana Rodriguez, Mauricio Reyes, Yoandy Villaurruti, Ismaray Aspirina Chacon, Joseph Koniak & Solange Dias and many, many more!).
